thanks everyone for their input.. alot of good ideas and some are way over my head, but still very good. I will make it simple and maybe get more creative and daring on my following attempts and try some of the recipes suggested.. But I've decided to go with some Tandori Chicken.. I found this mix at the Indian store which I asked one of the workers about and she says it's fool proof and needs very little ingredients like yogurt and stuff.. I also bought some ingredients for some spanish rice and some pre-made Roti bread with some dipping sauce.. Lastly, some 2-buck-chuck wine from Trader Joes.. I know it probably all doesn't go together, but I think this is a start.. You guys should keep this thread going as I am probably not the only that has trouble in the kitchen and alot of other cats are probably taking notes..

I did, but you probably missed it.. been seeing her for 2 years.. I actually used to cook for her more initially when we first started dating.. Not saying it was anything good but I did try more often. Just trying to weather the storm right now (she's on her period) so she needs some TLC and is sensitive about the "little things" that guys should do for ladies.. :)

oh I must have. I have a couple of specialties that are nice and easy.

Scallops in ginger stir fry with brocolli, zuccini and squash.

fry all the shit together and you done.

rosemary chicken kabobs with all color bellpepppers squash and onions with rasberry vinergarette.

marinate chicken in olive oil and fresh rosemary. veggies in rice vinegar for 30 min cook on grill

scallops in red sauce with brocolli and fresh garlic.

brown fresh garlic in a pan(low heat, dont burn)

while browning garlic start frying the brocolli, when garlic is(slightly brown) done move it out on a plate and throw the scallops in the pan when those are 90% done throw the garlic on them, nice canned tomatoes, brocolli and some nice marinara or speghetti sauce on it and stir it. let it get hot.

The biggest tip I can give you on cooking any recipe for a date well is get enough to make it for your own dinner all week and by the time of the date youll have it perfected. I cooked all this stuff when I was in middle school so im sure youll be good.

this dude can't even make toast and you want him to 'brown garlic'? you people are fucking idiots. just get this girl pissed out of her mind on cava (tell her its champagne) ask if she is shaved and head straight for the shitpipe, job done. wankers.

How hard is it to brown garlic? Im sure by the fifth attempt anyone could get it. I browned garlic when I was in elementary school, possibly 6 years old.

1) put pan on stove
2)put olive oil in pan, enough to cover entire bottom pan and then just a dash more.
3)turn on low heat, wait 5 mins if not just barely sizzling turn up heat a very small amount
4)If your using this to cook with other ingredients take out before it turns brown but starts to darken a little. If your using this as a topping or an ingredient thats not being cooked any further cook till golden brown.

Low heat and attention are key while doing this.
You will burn this periodically through out your life if you cook it regulary, easy fix just start over.

Surprised no one mentioned sushi. Seems easy enough, tasty too. Maybe get some pickled Japanese veggies as a side treat.

I haven't made any myself, so don't clobber me if it really is a difficult dish!

nah man it's easy
sushi is very good...
chicks dig it cuz they can eat alot and not gain much weight
the problem is the portions...
a small pot of rice can get you like 10-16 fat rolls...easy..
I figure it's better for a bigger crowd...
otherwise you'd be stuck eating Sushi leftovers all week
