Live 7-VST's change/crash with MIDI controllers.

Okay, here's the scoop. Currently, I'm running a setup with Live 7 Suite, a Behringer FCB1010 MIDI foot controller, a Trigger Finger, and an Alesis Micron. I'm doing a live looping setup where the Trigger Finger Controls the tracks that are armed, while I use the foot pedal to trigger scenes being launched.

One problem I've been having recently is with VST soft synths. I have Live set up so that the armed track will begin recording immediately after the scene is launched. Problem is, though, is that once I launch the scene and begin recording, my VST instruments completely change their settings. It will change settings to a completely different instrument, which throws off the entire song/loop session. Both plugins that I've had trouble with (and there might be more, but these are the only two I've used), Tone2 Gladiator and Crystal, are the full, unlocked versions, so it has nothing to do with demo versions or anything like that.

I've checked the MIDI mapping chart a million times and nothing is mapped that would directly cause these settings to change. Anyone have any ideas? I have a show tomorrow and I'd like to get this figured out beforehand . Thank you!

So its not just me that this is happening to. Have you figured this out yet? Ive had this problem for months. I hate having to use FL7 as a rewire and record sounds in..

Nope, I haven't. It's happened with a lot of VST's, which makes the problem more maddening because it's hard to pin down the exact problem. One of these days, I'll call ableton support and see if they can help me, unless someone here can answer it.

Yea, it must be program issue, because its happening to you on a mac and Im on a PC. is this happening to you in live 8 as well?

Im thinking maybe the config or the cache is mucking it up.


Do you switch through presets while you have a midi loop playing? Mabey if I can always recreate this problem occurring I would get peoples attention.

I only have Live 7, so I can't comment on if this happens in 8.

Basically, I have the foot controller mapped to change scenes, and the Trigger Finger is used to change the arming of the tracks (and some other specific parameters, depending on the song.) When I press the foot controller to change the scene, the plugin settings change entirely. This doesn't happen when I click on the arrow to play the scene instead of triggering it through MIDI.
