help with multiple beat repeats

Post by jcobb00 » Sun May 24, 2009 7:47 pm

alright, so ive used the multiple beat repeat chain selecting knob technique and its pretty cool but the problem is being able to select exactly the repeat you want instantly with precision, accuracy, and consistency.

the idea i have is to be able to have 8 beat repeats on the master channel and instead of selecting each one with one knob, i want to be able to select each one with a pad.

i know it is possible to do this using the power button but the problem is multiple beat repeats can then play at the same time which is not good.

it would be awesome if i could get my padkontrol to turn br on when the pad is pressed down, and back off when i let go... but changing the momentary and toggle options on my pk does not have the desired effect

any solutions?

I was just figuring this out myself yesterday, so far the best way ive found for my need needs is to map a PK pad to a controller, then asign it to volume, it will max the volume while your finger is on the pad then fall to zero instantly when you let go.

hope this helps.

Try setting the chance on the beat repeat to 0 and then just triggering the repeats by assigning a midi or keyboard stroke to the repeat option each or all of your repeats. To tighten up the repeats try selecting auto in the drop down menu (or trigger for a rough n ready repeat) personally I also turn of the allow triplets as this can get messy unless you are doing some D'n'B trax. Hope this helps have fun repeating !
