8.03. crashes when opening .mov-files

as soon as i selct a .mov file in the browser, live crashes.

anyone else with this?

have posted it in bugs also, but want to know if anybody here experienced the same.

I can confirm this and reported it a few versions ago.
Selecting any video file in the browser, crashes Live.

is it live or maybe a decoding error in the .mov file?

I can make it crash with .avi files too. So I doubt it has something to do with decoding errors.

I had just the same problem with QuickTime that was crashing and deleting the Preferences.cfg file according to instructions from Abes has helped.

Could you describe where to find that file and what exactly the abes told you about it? This would be great, as I do not seem to find this file in the app-package nor in the system library

The path should be: /Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live 8.0.3/Preferences.cfg

The support team told me to delete Preferences.cfg file because QuickTime was crashing in Ableton due to corrupt configuration file. I did, and it worked.

Found it. Deleted it. But does not work
Althoug live now crashes when I want to drop the file, and not immediatly when selecting it. Anyway, thank you very much!

On the bug forum Christian from the abes asked for a crash log of this behaviour. So please if anybbody else experience this crash, send you crashlog to [email protected].
