Perhaps like this: upon horizontal selection (clips are on different tracks) it will merge the clips including their midi channel number into the resulting file. The longest clip determine the overall length. A vertical selection forces Live to chain the clips for the output stream. This way you automatically export several clips in a row without the annoying process of opening an exra channel and record the whole clip stack. If the Ableton guys are really nice they add readout of the individual follow action settings so all our complex clip compositions can be exported quite elegantly.

It would be nice if Live would export several marked clips at once.

You can already do this by using the new group feature.
Group the desired ones together and drag the group into the browser to create an .als file
Any clips in the group tracks will be saved along with the group
