Turing a long audio file into a triggered sample. . .

Post by benjamingordon » Tue May 26, 2009 11:47 pm

Hi.

I have a long movie quote and half way through there are some "ooow" and "ooohs" that i want to trigger in a pattern and record as a loop.

Rather than me confusing myself by saying how id do it. . . can you all suggest some different ways of doing this.

I have about 50 movie quotes that at some point i would want to trigger as a pattern and loop. Some are very small "one hit" style samples that are just like drums but some others are samples that half way down the audio file contain the bits i want to trigger. . .

Any ideas would be much much appreciated.

Cheers, Benji :)

There are a few ways that this can be achieved. From what I understand your trying to do I would recommend having several instances of the same clip (i.e. just copy and paste) then on the different copies of the same clip (recommend sesion view) you can set the Start and Stop paramters on each individual clip. You can turn the loop option on and off for the different styles one shot clips or loops. Finally just assign the the launch buttons in session view to midi or keyboard strokes and you should be in buisness.

this method would require you to have the original sample warped. i'd put the original sample in arrangement view, and use the separate function to create individual clips of each smaller sample. then go back to session view and trigger away. no need to warp the clips.
