Live PA by Al Kal in San Francisco, May 27th 2009

Hey Guys- I'll be playing next Wednesday night, May 27th, @ Shine, 1337 Mission St., San Francisco CA. I'm playing from 11-12, all original down- to mid-tempo stuff, looping synth bass, other keyboards (Reaktor, Reason), and melodica. The rest of the evening will be chill tunes from the Ambisonic Collective DJs. I'm relatively new to SF, so would love to meet some fellow Ableton users. Shine is a comfy little club, decent sound system, nice staff and patrons. Also, I'm looking into making this a monthly gig, so will be looking for people to play with (doesn't need to be downtempo necessarily). 21+, $3 before 10, $5 after. Word up Al, thanks for having a listen! I play out about once every month or two in SF, about the same down in LA. Definitely down to talk collaboration and shows- your live approach sounds really interesting, and likely a good fit with my own (I tend to improvise sets using a monome and the MLR max patch).

Hey JB- Thanks a lot, and thanks for coming out! It is much appreciated. Please let me know about next week- my email addy is al at jhu dot edu . I'll be doing a monthly thing at Shine (but not in June- starting in July), and so will be thinking about how I want to theme the evening. I'll likely balance livePA with DJs, so I'll have you do one of those when the time comes if you're up for it.
