Lap top crash after installing new software with Live, why?

Hello fellow Live users

I run a Vaio grx520 with P4 1.6, 512 ram and 30gb. Installed on it are Live 1.5, Reasons 2.0, Motu firewire828, and a Evolution mk225-c controller. My current set up runs great, but when trying to install any new software either demos or full versions they load fine and every thing seems great, but when I try to close the new installed software my lap top always crashes no matter what software it is. I have tried reaktor, dynamo, fm7, Computer Muzys sequencer, and a few others and my lap top will always crash when closing them. I am stumped as to why this happens, could it be Live or my lap top? Has any body else had this problem and if so how did you fix it or what could I try to fix this?
Any help would be great.
