syncing 2 live's

what is the best way to sync 2 computers running ableton live?

so far i would just need sync without any audio streaming from here to there (of course i wouldnt mind if this was possible as well).

other than that use midi-sync, but that's less reliable. no shit.

hmm i was hoping for some fancy way using an ethernet cable and osc... .
well i have noone to jamm with at the moment anyway

Hey there,
I have a little experience with this, I did it extensively a couple of weeks ago for a project. Easiest way? Use two macs, they have built-in MIDI over LAN, so an ethernet cable is all you need.
If you have a MIDI I/O device on each computer you can just run a MIDI cable from the 'out' of one computer to the 'In' of the other. I used a piece of software thast allows MIDI over LAN for PC, but it aint free. I was lucky enough to only need it for as long as the demo run, you might be different.

If you have two macs and want some help on that, I can probably have you up and running pretty fast. Though if you just go to 'audio/MIDI preferences' you can probably figure it out yourself!
