I purchased Operator and can't access factory presets

Post by LOFA » Sun Jan 23, 2005 12:59 pm

I was trying out the demo and I could no longer access factory presets on Operator. My solution was to purchase it. This did not work, I still can't get the preset screen to open up (I tried clicking on it next to the disk icon.)
This is annoying as I intend to use the presets as a point of reference through the tutorials.
I am considering reinstalling 4.1, but I am not sure of the best with way, what with multiple unlocks and usage of them. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Cool. It's reinstalled and running again. I have no idea why that happened though, or if it will happen again.
Apparently I have two versions of live on my desktop now- 4.1 and 4.0.
Is this legal?
The possibilities are great for simultaneous session/arrangement, though I imagine it blows away the objectivity of the grand paradigm.

Hi LOFA,

I'm not sure if I understand you. What happens when you click on the Preset chooser icon in the Operator? Nothing or is the list just empty?
And on which computer platform are you, OS X, OS 9 or Windows?

Apparently I have two versions of live on my desktop now- 4.1 and 4.0.
Is this legal?
Sure, it is. Of course you can have installed different versions parallel.

regards,
Alex

I am running OSX 10.3.7, and the factory preset list just would not open.
It was fine at first. I went half way through the first Operator tuorial with no problem. I selected probably every preset and finally settled on the grand father clock chorus a went off on a two hour tangent.
Later, when I tried running the demo again it would not allow me to access the selection of presets. I am sure if it had opened they all would have been there. I continued to press the arrow and it would not respond, while the disk icon did ("you can only save if purchased".) Everything seems to be running smoothe with this after reinstall, but I have been having one other problem, which may be related:
More and more frequently, after a varying number of actions, live 4.2, 4.3, and 4.4 decide to disable my ability to duplicate individual clips, entire scenes, and a few other scattered functions. It will however, always enable me to create a new scene with all of the current clips I am in the process of playing (lit with yellow triangles.) This is how I get around things without having to reopen the project all the time.
I have not been able to play with 4.1 enough to determine if this bug has or has not been fixed (or if it is my CPU,) but that is only because I had been fighting with this new, and quite possibly related one.
I am not running any plugins, vst's, or AU's.
Thank ou for your time, I am really looking foward to learning about Operator, and FM synthesis in general, thanks to Ableton's wonderful tutorials.
