laptop speakers are pointless as a feature as far as i can tell.

why would you want to make subbass, which has sound waves that are larger than your head, come out of laptop speakers?

harmonic excitation for the specific purpose of playback on laptop speakers will only ruin your mix. don't waste your time.

other speakers maybe, but dance music, with sub bass, is not designed for playback on weak systems. if you want your music to show up on crappy speakers, mix it like pop music and then cut off 4db of peaks with a limiter/maximizer. yay, FM quality sound!

sometimes doubling the subby line with another complementary bass sound with less low end that CAN be heard on the laptop speakers is the solution.

Doubling the bass with a different instrument is good. distortion/overdrive is good. adds harmonic overtones that CAN be heard on small speakers. Your brain is capable of adding the base frequencies if it hears the overtones.

It's definetly worth checking out this stuff. Lots of kids listen to music on their cellphone speakers.

When you produce music for websites you also have to consider that a considerable part of your audience is listening on laptop speakers.

Regardless of what genre of music he's mixing, if he doesn't pay attention to those little details(which he did), he will never succeed in making a good mix in other genres.
well, try putting that mix designed to sound good on laptop speakers, onto a resonable sound system...

Just because you have 15000 posts, it doesn't give you the dumbass stupid right to have this hostile attitude.
And i don't give a dam who you are.

Hell, to be honest, i don't even think you can play an instrument.
I bet you spend 3 hours to record a midi drum track just because you can't play the bass drum and hi-hats with 2 fingers in the same time. So you spend 3 hours overdubbing.

At least i'm an accomplished musician/composer with a steady fan base.

I wonder who's the noob here...

I might be new to Ableton, true, but that's what this site is for, not just just for people who have 15000 posts.

Who are you????

Get lost.
no you're not, you're a child. read your post.

you master everything you do for laptop and cell phone? bullshit.
