to be clear, jagoff's rude posts are in blue.
mine are in green.
the rest are questions from dipshit I'm answering.
tdwctdwc wrote:1- Here's a quote from your very civil reply that started all this :

"my bet is the OP is much further ahead than tdwctdwc. he talks like he masters ALL his songs for phone and craptop"
this how it all started.

So i wonder who's resorting to personal attacks and who's not being civil in this 8O
see my 'dogmatic impossible n00b' reference above. I was trolling you basically because you wrote:
And it doesn't have to be only about Laptop speakers.
We're talking TV speakers, old car speakers, generic CD player speakers, cellphone speakers etc....

This is for sure NOT pointless.
and again...
I'll just re-post:

" And it doesn't have to be only about Laptop speakers.
We're talking TV speakers, old car speakers, generic CD player speakers, cellphone speakers etc....

This is for sure NOT pointless.
and again (more subtle.)
He might as well not waste his time mix a song at all...

Regardless of what genre of music he's mixing, if he doesn't pay attention to those little details(which he did), he will never succeed in making a good mix in other genres.
quite rude actually, pushing your own voice so hard against everyone else's opinions. dogmatic, childish, rude. so I stepped in, called you n00b, yeah, that's quite the insult.
2- the OP question was about making his bass sound good on laptop speakers.
What i suggested was use Maxbass.
What you suggested : nothing.
Instead, you were bored, found out that i don't have that many posts on this forum = let me attack tdwctdwc instead.
dipshit, I made the first reply to the thread!!
Tone Deft wrote:dunno why you would. you might make it sound good on a laptop but it would sound like crap in your car and monitors. laptops aren't designed to sound good, they're designed to run business applications and go on the web. have you EVER heard good bass from your laptop?

as for a real answer, you probably need to put in a high pass filter set to a low frequency like 75-200Hz, somewhere in there depending on your laptop. it can't handle low frequencies, so cut them out.
you fail.
3- i never said that i make my music for laptop speakers or cellphones .
lol, definatly not my music, maybe yours ?
what i did say that: you have to take in consideration those things while you mix.
you did say that you have to take it into consideration, and you kept saying that after every post that didn't parrot your advice. it's your way or the highway in this thread. I say FUCK mastering with cell phones and laptops in mind. if someone wants a ringtone, remaster it, that's obvious. if they want it to sound good over laptop speakers, shoot them in the ear, they're too retarded to appreciate good sound.
4- If you read all this thread for the beginning, you'll see that i DID NOT attack or insult anyone, until you came in and poured your street manners on.
you were rude to Superchibiaisn here
http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?p=913907#p913907

condescending to him here
http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?p=914670#p914670

rude to me in your first post to me, "dumbass stupid right" that's pretty much name calling, even if you make it a noun instead of an adjective. you insult my musical ability and programming skills, you call me a n00b and tell me to get lost.
Just because you have 15000 posts, it doesn't give you the dumbass stupid right to have this hostile attitude.
And i don't give a dam who you are.

Hell, to be honest, i don't even think you can play an instrument.
I bet you spend 3 hours to record a midi drum track just because you can't play the bass drum and hi-hats with 2 fingers in the same time. So you spend 3 hours overdubbing.

At least i'm an accomplished musician/composer with a steady fan base.

I wonder who's the noob here...

I might be new to Ableton, true, but that's what this site is for, not just for people who have 15000 posts.

Who are you????

Get lost.
you're right and you have 15000 posts on the Ableton forum.

I bet you would make a great assistant for Dave Pensando. He'll probably bitch-slap you and fire you the next day.
more insults and condescension.

called me names here:

Mr "15000 posts on ableton smartass"

i never said this..
you're CREATING quotes for me!
that came from reading this
And it doesn't have to be only about Laptop speakers.
We're talking TV speakers, old car speakers, generic CD player speakers, cellphone speakers etc....

This is for sure NOT pointless.
OK, so I jumped from 'NOT pointless' to 'mastered equally.'

my take is, fuck mastering for cell phones and laptops altogether, it IS pointless to consider them when mastering.

no problems, i'll just repost:

You research is full of shit asshole, you know why?
Because you researched my posts after you came in pouring you shitty mouth all over the thread.
so all i did was treat fire with fire....Asshole!

and i haven't been rude to Superchibiaisn, nor was my intention.

you ask about my age, well i can tell you that when i started doing music, you were probably still tying to figure out what to use your dick for.

You're a fuckin asshole !

I was trying to finish this while being the one who is civil and modest, even though IT WASN'T ME WHO STARTED THIS, but now you got my juices flowing.

Asshole...
   what's that smell?

absolutely nothing but personal attacks. to think at one point you were trying to push your point across simply based on your industry cred. good luck finding any cred now.

know what I think is an asshole? someone that logs into a discussion forum pushing their view by waving their industry cred around, especially when they're simply making it up. you can't discuss the topic at hand, you don't know what you're talking about.

KTHXBYE

again and again with the personal attacks. I can see how you deserve your industry cred. why don't you go listen to an EZ Jazz station and chill out. maybe you can go get crazy with some Kenny G.

really, when you finish a track you master it with cell phones and laptops in mind?

how does that make me a hypocrite? I never said I know a damn thing about Fusion-jazz. wow. is English not your first language? you write it well but your vocabulary is rusty.

still, you don't wish to get back on track and address the question as I tried to boil it down?

when you finish a track you master it with cell phones and laptops in mind? do you honestly do that?
