by dragging? it does not seem to work 8.0.3 unless i misunderstand how it should work... in clip view dragging the start end points? or the loop brace? only way for me is still to change the value in the clip sample lenght box. bug? or me?1. the new warping (and adding silence to a loop, just by dragging!)
which of the new functions in L8 are you actually using...?

dome? subfunke?
:)
exactly, dragging the clip end parameter.
dragging the little clip end flag in order to add silence does not feel right: in most cases you just want to drag it right to the end of the sample without extending it.

In a random order;
- Scrolling tracks and long samples in the browser
- Group tracks
- OVERDRIVE!
- Vocoder (a little)
- The new midi editor and warp mode, quantize (never used it before the new warping layout)
- Multiband Dynamics
- Fullscreen, WOHOOO!
- Altering sizes and parameters on multiple tracks...
- The groove engine, although this one I use against my will, and it's NOT a time-saver... sometimes necessary for adding swing to some parts, while leaving others untouched, so I guess I need it deep down inside...
- Limiter... do alot of improvisation, the limiter has become invaluable for me now.
- Coloured track headers! Hehe...

ahhh... it's me then. yup that is working with dragging, i know, i thought you can drag the start / end flag as welldom wrote:dome? subfunke?

The new crash function... works very well when moving audio clips, dragging groove templates, during initialization, etc.. other than that, I love the new warping system, group tracks, and groove pool (when it doesn't crash).. haven't had time to seriously mess with looper/vocoder/collision..

Configuring plug-in parameters - biggest one for me!
Group tracks
Grooves
limiter
Pitching delays
better midi stuff
new operator improvements
and best of all.... timestretch in sampler!... oh ... wait... that was a dream I had. Nevermind.

Re: which of the new functions in L8 are you actually using...?
group tracks have completely changed the way i organise my live sets for gigs
my semi-confusing vertical set is now a very neat easy to navigate left to right set
all tracks grouped and unfolded as i play the track then delete and drag new group tracks in... brilliant
also using the groove function a lot
lovin the new operator... well sick noisemaker
the repitch setting on the simple delay is getting well tanned... great for scratching efx as well as sick delays
configure plugin parameters is massive for me

Re: which of the new functions in L8 are you actually using...?
Farkin grooovin!!!
saves allot of time plus the groove extraction
i can extract groves from clips i've spent hours on.
i still have to go in and do little tweaks sometimes but the groove function really saves time.
group tracks o yeagh
i like the new effects
and limiter chills on my master track for live shows set to protect
looper!!
now i havn't been using this yet because i'm in a writing phase but soon i will be gearing up for some serious live looping.
copy past plugins.. o so nice
i've used the transient detection to sample my organ
my timing was off so i was warping the recording until i realized i could slice to transients.. i just had to do some minor editing of the transients then slice to sampler
bam i now have a sampler instrument of my Hammond organ.
thats going to come in real handy for sampling non midi instruments.
slice to transients is also nice for chopping up drum loops too.
the colors are nice too
o ya i've built a crossover using the multi band dynamics
so now my little GK micro bass amp is a kickin sub
its soooo nice being able to fully hear the bass.
i know i could have rigged this up before but i finally did it lol.
i have to say i love 8
but i did upgrade for live 7 to live 8 suite
which means i get extra goodies..
super duper!!
lol
die!!
j/k
bye
i'm not crazy
i just a damn pepsi

I really like
the new midi editor
grouptracks
adjusting parameters on all selected tracks
operator
haven't had much time to look into the new
instruments and plugs, but I'll probably like
those as well

Re: which of the new functions in L8 are you actually using...?
groove
new warping
paste in midi editor
also, I'm fairly sure device racks now automap things a lot more sensibly, e.g. when cut/copying. Maybe I'm imagining it.

100% agreeDr Dub wrote:I also use selecting multiple Tracks and change a parameter onn them a LOT.
As i think of it, as funy as it sounds, changeing multiple Trackvolumes at once is the Biggest plus from owning 8 for me... altough not the most sexy one.
The other feature I am really liking is the new Warping system, so much faster, more intuitive - I love it.
Re: which of the new functions in L8 are you actually using...?
All the stuff I'm using most has been said before. Changing multiple selected tracks, the new warp engine, etc are all time-savers for me. I still use complex mode for most tracks, but in a few instances Complex Pro has really done wonders (seems like mostly dubstep tracks, but that might just be me). And limiter is an essential, in my book.
But seriously, I feel like I'm still just getting started. 8 has a lot I'm interested in, and I'm looking forward to upgrading that to suite in the near future, plus with the APC40 it feels like an entirely new and more powerful/flexible environment.
