I'd rather do jury duty that listen to tiesto

yeah I was pretty drunk last night. I like melodic metal that brings out the animalistic side of me.aisling wrote:You may have missed the grammar of the post. It stated that I missed the "prime" of the stone roses and Happy mondays which was late 80's.....ThrowAway wrote:FYI metal's prime was definitely not the 80's. Your all old fucking geezers.
I lost touch with metal by the early 90's so I cant give a valid opinion regarding the prime.....
Metal has/had amazing musicianship and intensity.......I just found my self gravitating more to music that made my body want to dance, not slam or mosh.....
I'd rather have my upcoming prostate exam my doctor is unsuccessfully trying to persuade me to do......ThrowAway wrote:Id rather stick dull pins in my ear drums than listen to tiesto.
probably wrapping up listening to a sasha and digweed mix.....ThrowAway wrote:whoah were are brothers in our hatred of testieo.
I totally dug both of these bands. I love that long ass song "Breaking into Heaven" (i think) by The Stone Roses. I didn't see this thread until just now... I'm kinda surprised... I would have been scared to post it.aisling wrote:......The stone roses and the happy mondays..
I remember getting a rubbish quality copy of Pretty Hate Machine on cassette with no tracklisting or anything, and being blown away by it... I was a bit disappointed to find out later it was basically one bloke behind it all, I had imagined an anarchistic army of musicians working to overthrow the world...H20nly wrote:Nine Inch Nails only had one really good album back then too.
That was my problem why I missed the Manchester era...I was heavily invested in the US music scene and also I was always in my own bands, so I put most of my energy into my own music. I am humbled and excited to dive into "new" music for me, and see where the muse takes me.H20nly wrote:I totally dug both of these bands. What I guess I'm saying here is that all of you who have posted in this thread have way better musical taste than I thought.![]()
I remember The Pixies and My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult blowing my mind around the same time as the Stone Roses and Happy Mondays. With Smashing Pumpkins album Gish coming shortly thereafter... That was a good fukin album I don't care how much you hate. Nine Inch Nails only had one really good album back then too. As did 311 - Music was a phenomenal album.
life was different then....
totally....aisling wrote:probably wrapping up listening to a sasha and digweed mix.....ThrowAway wrote:whoah were are brothers in our hatred of testieo.
If you were American the 80's would have sucked massively, it was pretty awesome in the UK.DrXparaMental wrote:80s = POSITIVELY the WORST decade in contemporary Rock music's history. Hands down. Garbage for the most part that consisted of posers either rehashing old styles/sub genres or parading new hairdos. Holy ficking YUCK.
No doubt. I pictured that too. I was impressed that it was "one bloke" though, but only because it was/is such a good album8O wrote:I remember getting a rubbish quality copy of Pretty Hate Machine on cassette with no tracklisting or anything, and being blown away by it... I agree these were dark times for the US.DrXparaMental wrote:80s = POSITIVELY the WORST decade in contemporary Rock music's history. Hands down. Garbage for the most part that consisted of posers either rehashing old styles/sub genres or parading new hairdos. Holy ficking YUCK.
Yep, TOTALLY. I want to thank you for your voice of reason because you are 100% correct.Sage wrote:If you were American the 80's would have sucked massively, it was pretty awesome in the UK.DrXparaMental wrote:80s = POSITIVELY the WORST decade in contemporary Rock music's history.
