Throw it at George Bush.

Dunno... actually. It just seemed like a good answer.

I've read the manual (pg 466~476) and the only thing I can find is the description on 476:

You can change the assignment of all of the knobs, faders and buttons on the APC40 by
enabling the Remote switches in the MIDI/Sync Preferences, as described in the section on
manual control surface setup.

you can't but user tweaks are coming down the pipe. stay tuned or read up and do it yourself. don't ask me how I don't know.

out of the box it's a really simple device, pretty obvious what it does and doesn't do.

Put some black electrical tape over it.

It worked for the "Check Engine" light in my car.

to me it should be a standard feature, it happens that i want to stop a clip and press an empty one beneath it but i forgot that i also pressed the arm/record button of that track so instead of stopping its recording into that clip. Weird that a dedicated knob to delete a clip is missing. Now i have to do it by Mouse. But hopefully there is going to be a workaround orupdate to fix it

If I understand what I've read about the APC40, all its MIDI outputs are hard wired. You can change what they contol in your destination, but you can't change what it sends.

Your software (DAW, VST, other hardware) has to allow MIDI mapping to its controls, and be able to assign a message received from the APC40 to that control. So, unless Live lets you map a MIDI message to its (or Windows/MAC) DELETE key, you're out of luck.

If you want to delete a clip, maybe you could just record silence into it on the fly? From what I know about Live (and it isn't much), you need to load and delete your clips manually, in Live. The APC40 is for playing them back (among other things).

(Sorry for the joke in my earlier post. It was meant to get a smile, that's all).

thanks for replying, i guess i would have to delete it by mouse. It would be obvious to have a undo or delete function. Oh well can't have everything :)

Can you please give us more hints about how you have done this??? Is this also working with the classic or free version of bome or any other midi application?
