Wasn't Malcolm X also a big pioneer?

I believe Malcolm was, but Luis wasn't.
Hence the unfortunate out come that fateful day on the stage of the Audubon Ballroom.
A lot has been made of the reasoning behind this event, the who's and the why's, could it be
down to the simple fact that there were those that where jealous of Malcolm's house rocking
PA abilities, and his deft use of the APC40 to get the "Hands in the air" ?
I guess we will never really know.

You might be right.
I'm no expert on the history of US civil rights and electronic music performance.
In my mind though i've always imagined Luis to be more an SP1200 kinda guy.
I do remember once reading some place that after having had a very nice sit down lunch
with Elton John, how Luis had briefly looked into running a couple of Electribes and fruity loops, but had gone back to the
SP1200's because he felt "They had the phat booty shaking tone i need"
