still there are bugs..

in arrangement view..

* the fade-out is working wrong when you start to play from the point after fade out starts.
(you can try it with hard quick fade out setting on a clip.. first start to play from the point before fadeout starts (it works normal) then stop and start to play from the point after fade out starts.. (now it's going on like an opposite fade curve)

* all the clip envelope changes doesn't work after fade-out starts..

There won't be any fix available for the bad performance of Live 8 on certain macs? I just need a straight and honest answer please. I can't keep on waiting months without any progress.

Thanks!

Is it possible to install these betas when using Suite? My Live.app is about 1.4 gigs and the beta is obviously just Live, not the suite version. How to install it without deleting my Suite content (that seems to be inside Live.app)?

you can search info text in all of the L8 versions
I use it all the time.

All my presets contain the keywords for the rack preset and I just search on those. EG searching for : pad operator angstrom

when you open the info window and hover over a modern factory preset, do you see the descriptive text?
if not then you need to rebuild your library - which takes a while. You don't need to do the 'reinstall packs' part of it though.

For some reason when in installed 8.03 my info texts stopped working and I had to rebuild, it was fine after that. Honest - I use this pretty much every day. All the presets I make I fill with tags, and I can now find them really quickly.

i do see infotexts. i just cant search with them. ill try to rebuilt the library again, and let you know how/if it works.
ive seen a couple of threads around talking about this new search info prefix and some people cant get it to work. might be related to live, might be something else, i dont know, as it only seem to affect certain configurations.

ill try to rebuild my library now anyways, see what happens.
thanks.

i am really looking forward to getting all my projects into v8.

Hi there

I thought I should mention the problems I'm currently experiencing:

There still seems to be a bug with clip automation in the arrange - something to do with fades.

If you add and rename makers whilst in playback. Subsequent playbacks cause glitches and crackles in audio & the disk light [D] in the top right lights up. If you restart live then the problem ceases.

Also, I'm noticing on some clips that the timing/sound changes slightly after you 'consolidate' the file. This is only when warping has been used. Consolidate should render the file exactly the same as the warped version. This is a bummer when you spend hours trying to sort your groove.

On mac os 10.5.7 when dragging audio channels up or down past the 'visible screen' - there's a serious 'scroll lag' - the same thing occurs when copying/moving clips in the arrange. The scrolling action should be smooth and swift.

Dragging and dropping into/out of groups is still a bit glitchy. It'd be useful if the groups where a slightly different colour to the background by default so you can see more clearly what's going on.

Also the resizing of groups/tracks seems a little unpredictable. It used to work better in earlier versions of live before groups were introduced.

The master audio out seems to colour the audio in my set up. If I switch to external out 1+2 instead of the master out (which uses 1+2) the sound is slightly clearer than if I go through the master bus. This is on single sources and not a summing issue.

I hope you find the time to take a look at some of or all of the above points.

thanks

Expired a day or two early? I keep getting a message that the beta expired, and Live closes :(
