I'd STILL kill for a good LFO filter for dubstep bass

I've tried the auto filter, and the LFO doesn't sweep enough

Volcano is a BIG processor hog and clicks when you change sync'd LFO rate.
WOW sounds decent, but not half as good for dubstep bass as Volcano or Massive, or Kontakt.
...most of the audio filters don't really trigger off of audio very reliably... and sidechaining the midi is kind of a pain.

i can use vsts, for sure... but really what i want is just a nice simple LFO filter that sounds nice and fat.

is that too much to ask?

i will trade SERIOUS racks + vip business if anyone can hook me up with a PROPER native lfo filter rack for wobbly dubtep bass.

Basically i just want the sampler filters to work properly.

i think that we can safely say ableton sucks for making LFO'd dubstep bass.

Have you checked out fabfilter volcano? Tons of modulation options, filters and a killer interface...plus it sounds great (in my opinion).

i like massive, and the filter in massive. (native instruments).

But... do you use the filter freq and q to sweep? you can automate them... and they are cool, i think.

the only problem i see with it is no retrigger. maybe you should use BP instead of LP?

also i like resampling synth meyhem in the dubstep range then loading it up into the drumrack in each of which slot has an lfo (and whatever effects you can drop in there)

i guess camel audio has a good filter out there too

but i think resampling is the way to go

i've recently made a wobbly bass wobbling on dotted eights with great succes. i just used zebra and it's filter modulated by it's great lfo, which has some nice retriggering options.

but i'm sensing you are looking for an insert and not a synth.

how did you make this? is this sampler or synths? it's not exactly what i was looking for but is definitely fun, dirty and cool. if it's with autofilter or sampler i would swap you some stuff for it.

also: is there a way to make the lfo sound less 'square'. i was having that problem in ableton with the sine lfos as well... it sounds like 'chak chak chak' as opposed to 'wap wap wap'.

Would a bit of envelope modulation help here... What about a bit of sidechain modulation?

With ableton's analog you can make a good wobble bass. Also with simpler or sampler with some good waveform samples you can make big fat wobble basses. No need of other vsti's.
