All the groove amount controls and whatnot are great, but it is unacceptable, in the course of a live performance, to record midi notes or audio live into a clip - first with straight quantization - and then have to apply a groove manually. Ridiculous, right?
This being Ableton, I thought for sure there must be a more elegant solution - like the default groove setting in the preferences panel of prior versions. But I've scoured the program, the manual and these forums to no avail.
Yeah, sure, it's great to be able to select all clips and then apply a groove to them - but even in the studio it's a setback, and on stage it is not viable whatsoever.
The solution? Please include a "default" button for each groove in the groove pool - or simply make whichever groove is currently selected the "default" groove for all recorded clips until another groove is selected.
This is an essential update, and we need it now, with a bug fix - waiting for Live 9 simply won't do.
Other than this issue, Live 8 is fantastic for me and I'm really impressed with all the work flow enhancements. Hopefully you can implement/re-apply this functionality swiftly and without too much of a coding headache.
So thanks for listening - and all your hard work!
P.S. I've tried all the methods suggested on related threads, but none have worked to solve this issue. If there is a way, please respond with clear, simple steps - and accept my humble gratitude in advance.
