None the less I think this is a step in the right direction and I'm going to continue to monitor the development. Hopefully it will get a bit easier to configure in the future.
same here, on XP though... :?
Well the OSC prefix is pretty important. Its basically how you comnnect to the app. kinda like if you send MIDI on the wrong channel, nothing happens. The applications will tell you the prefix in the documentation for that app.
check what the prefix is and type it in and press [enter].
also, there is a bit of a learning curve for these apps as they are kinda DIY ( but awesome! ) so not everything in the app is not super intuitive and bug free as we are used to. Id recommend checking out the monome forum. There are some very helpful people and good info about getting started with the monome ideology. also the monome wiki has lots of getting started info and lots of other info as well.

Also, 9 times out of 10 there are getting started videos for the app you are trying to use on Vimeo /youtube

What apps are you trying to use?

at the moment mlr 2.51 (also tried 2.27 and 7up).
in the drop down menus in "!include" i selected "USB Audio Device" for input and output (that's how the APC shows up in the Windows device manager and in Live as well).
these are also the only devices marked in Max' midi setup.

in Max i have a "OSC-route: no such object" message.

Thanks a lot for your efforts! Not really a problem if it doesn't work because just using the APC with Live has infinitely multiplied the infinite possibilites i already had in Live...how much is infinity times infinity? I'm going gaga but having fun, the APC rules...

ah...
did you move the monomulator patch from the folder it came in/ you need to have that OSC-route.mxo object in the same folder as the monomulator patch. it needs osc-route to work.
if so does that fix it?

yes MLR's prefix is mlr...

I think i figured it out. I only added the osc-route for OS X. Windows cant read it.dOH!
try redownloading, i have added the needed windows files...
let me know if it works, if not, im pretty sure i know what to do to fix it.

FWIW I did the download, the unrar-ing using winrar (recommended by machinate over winzip for dealing with Mac-archives on XP.)

I got these errors. I did the download about 15 minutes ago.

same error message here, but i think the important parts extracted ok...
no more osc-route error message, but it still doesn't work, everything's dark on the APC (apart from the color switching in your app)

mmmmhhh, no luck using mlr 2.51 (i am loading the file "_mlr.mxb". prefix is mlr.
i get 4 different "can't find sliderdefault..." and 4 "grooveduck2: no such object" messages.
as soon as i press the dac button i get LOTS of "% osc route: pattern did not match any prefixes" messages.
anyway, gotta get some sleep now...

wierd..
don't you have a monome anyway. just use that :D

so, I just rezipped everything up as two seperate archives. so you only have to unzip the AP stuff- which didn't look like it gave you a problem. redownload and lemme know if she unzips properly ( APC stuff )
