ewww...I actually make really good money for a non college grad. When people realize this it pisses them off to no ends. I would lay a 500 dollar bet down that I make more in 9 months than you make in a year(just going by statistics). Sure Ill work 80 hours a week for months on end but I love my life. i substantiated my facts on how much tax is collected with a link from the US GOVERNMENT, and used your own data for the actual cost of illegals. It is basic math that shows that the cost of illegals (a figure that YOU provided which certainly may be inflated) is less than one percent of the amount collected in tax.

Some things for you to ponder....

What are you actually suggesting the government do to get rid of the illegals? What are the options?

It would bankrupt the US to build a meaningful fence along the southern border, that would actually be high/strong/patrolled enough to keep all illegals out.

Have you thought about how much money it would cost in terms of staffing immigration services to find every single illegal in every city, and then deport them?

How would the local economies that depend on illegal manual/semi skilled labour cope? How would you deal with the sudden bankrupting of the local service industries?

You also seem to have a very short memory. Wasnt Texas/New Mexico stolen quite recently (historically) by the nascent US government, that actively encouraged illegal settling and immigration into Mexican/Spanish owned territory? It seems churlish at best to claim the moral high ground now.

That's not my argument. I don't agree that "we need a massive illegal workforce to sustain our way of living." I am however, pointing out that this is part of the cost to consider of DrX's "put em in a boxcar" solution. I also believe that it makes more sense to demonize those who are employing these people rather than the people themselves.

you seem to think that society and people will follow laws to the letter. like my earlier points to you, people are greater than the government. laws are just guides, general directions the population will take, we all break a law or two everyday.
