I do I make new presets for live 5?

I have Live version 5 and I want to know how I go about making my own presets. Also I would like to know if there is anywhere I can get some free presets for live 5.

21 views and no answer, come on guys help me out here please. I'm sure someone can give me some good advice on making presets for live. Surely someone must know if there are any free presets for live 5 kicking around.

Presets of what in Live? It's quite vague. If you want to make your own, then just do it and save. It may be hard to find things for Live 5 specifically now. Check out the tips and tricks section.

anyways, you first park your Datsun 240Z.
Then, turn the knob on your TV to off.
those two things will take you a while to do, so, when you get back here...there should be an answer.

You can make presets in Live by selecting multiple devices and "grouping" them.
Live 5 was just before Racks got introduced, so groups are like racks but without the rack features and you can only have 1 chain of effects.

You'll find it hard to find Live 5 presets. Ableton changed the library structure with Live 6 (and 7 and 8), which means that most people who shared presets updated their stuff for Live 6.
I think you also couldn't share actual Live Packs back then. So the only commercial presets you'll find from that time are a few "live fills" from Trackteam and the CovOps had SoundWrecks.
Which we both updated for Live 6.
Apart from a few Operator presets, you'll find it hard to find anything for Live 5.

Ableton has a few packs for Live 5 which can be found on http://www.ableton.com/livepacks

No problems, I understand my apologies for being so touchy, and thanks for the link. The fact is I would love live 8, as from live 7 there have been some major improvements to live.

I have already downloaded the ableton live packs. You have answered both my questions, so thanks for your help and advice it is much appreciated.
