I've used the search facility but can't find exactly what I'm looking for.

I'm after free vocal samples on t'internet. The old lo-fi "soundbyte" type if possible.

Anybody recommed any links?

Although this may not exactly fit the "Free vocal samples" description ... there are always bootleg accapella tracks on torrents like www.nilorelease.ecommunity.se (search as a torrent not a site)
a little cut and paste and filter and maybe you could get away with these on noncommercial tracks or remix/mashups?

try your luck with the phase inversion

drop a utility on to the track and boost the width to 200 percent

sometimes you get results....rarely
