Live authorisation in Windows is per user - grrr!

Post by Khazul » Fri Jun 19, 2009 11:22 am

Anyone else noticed this?

If you install Live 8 and authorise it, then try to use Live from a different user account (for eg one thats running less additional junk) it need re-authorising again!

Ableton, can authorisation please be stored in all users settings and not on a PC not in user settings, or fully honour the 'Install for all users' selection at install time and remember which was selected when the product is authorised, and so store this in the right settings location (or registry hive if that what you use).

Any why after installing a new version over an already authorised previous version does it offer you a free 14 day trail even though its quite happy that its authorised? Im guessing that if someone does misread the bit at the top and click on the big orange bit, they are going to hose their authorisation?
Nothing to see here - move along!

Look in the faq or search the board...I think you just need to copy the unlock file to the new users profile...
