Where are "Demo Sessions"?

Hey folks

I'm a newbie here- just purchased and installed Live 4. Anxious to learn how to use this. Where are the "Demo Sessions"? They don't show up in my browser as mentioned and shown in the Reference Manual, section 2.1 (P4). Any help will be much appreciated.

They're in the Help menu.

Or, In the Live application folder>Factory Content>Demos and Turorials

OK, this may sound dumb, but here's what happens: I go to Help menu, click on "Open Lesson: Make Music with Live".
What opens is "1-make Music with Live.als -Live". A screen pops up, but nothing happens. How do I make it work? I click the play button and music starts, but no lesson or tutorial. What step am I missing?

Hi rbreault,

the lessons do not appear if the screen resolution is too small.
So, what is your screen resolution and which computer platform do you use?

Thanks for the response. I'm not at my laptop right now, so I can't look up the resolution. My laptop is a Mac G4, dual processor runing OSX Panther.
What is the minimum resolution I need?

I tried every possible screen resolution and the lessons are still not appearing! Is there something else?

Hi rbreault,

ok, just to get sure I understand you right.
In the help menu of Live see the entries for the Live Lessons ("Lesson 1: Making Music with Live", Lessons 2: Editing Arrangements,... ").

If you then load the lesson, the Live set is loaded (you can see the clips) but you cannot see the Lesson? Could you then check if the "Lessons" entry in the view menu is enabled?

And which version of Live 4 do you have installed, the latest 4.1?

Exactly

In the help menu I see the entries for the Live lessons(Lesson 1, 2, etc). When I load a session I see the clips but cannot see the lesson. When I check the View menu "Lessons" are not enabled. If I try to enable it by clicking on it, it will not display a check mark - not enabled I presume.

I am running 4.1, but the same thing happened under 4.0.

please send me the log fiel of Live 4.1.
It is "/User/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live 4.1/Log.txt"
