Editing my skin

Post by dazzer » Sun Jun 21, 2009 10:57 am

A request, probably impossible.

There's a skin for Live here http://www.sonictransfer.com/ableton-li ... p?file=141 which is brilliant. One small thing, the main text, in black, would look much better in white, IMHO. I tried to open it up in the skin editor on the same site but the app says the file is not supported. The designer of the skin notes on SonicTransfer that it was "hand crafted using a hex editor". Hmm, a hex editor.

Can anyone edit it/ Am I out of luck?

This is something that I always felt should be available as a standard option. black text on dark backgrounds suck

No, but I think it should be, and it will be the title of my album.

See, Geebag agrees, the world would be a nicer place if somebody could do this, give us white text.

Yes, it's an .ask file. I think the problem is that it was edited using a hex editor, though I'll be the first to admit I have no idea what I'm talking about here.

i use this skin since ages... totally love it... it's so friendly on the eyes while staring at it for hours and hours...

my only complain is, that the hand symbol for the lock control device function does not change colour when locked...

i would be forever in there debt.

it just means that someone tweaked the skin by directly changing numbers in the file to mod stuff that isn't supported by the GUI editor...

@ swamp creature - can't find your "white type" skin on ST, although I did find others by you. That "Play" one is mad!

@ sub funk - my problem with the "Apple Pro" one is that it's virtually impossible to read the black text on my MAcBook screen but the rest of the colour scheme is cool.

@ fishmonkey - cheers, yeah I guessed it was something like that.
