I lost mine again recently.
And am a bit sick of the little amount of storage that they give you on the nano,
So I was looking at a Classic.
£175 quid for a 120 gig drive and some ear buds.
Apple are having a f*cking laugh!
i know a few ppl here use alternatives so I was wondering wht you would recommend? I need a lot of storage 80 gig+ so a nano similar thing is out. It was getting to be a pain in the ass deleting stuf every time I wanted to listen to somehting new. . .
Thanks for the heads up!

OT - Alternative to the Ipod?
I slipped into a daze, whilst I was there I heard the most startling music, it was at once familiar and alien, reassuring and unsettling.

Maybe try a Zune 120- they are getting better reports on the sound quality side.
I have a 160gb ipod classic- i had a 5.5gen 80gb- the sound is brighter on the classic yet the bass is a bit weak, they exchanged Wolfson DAC's for cheaper ones. The Zune still use Wolfson DAC's.
ipod has battery life nailed but the zune would be good enough.
I have had issues with my ipod- i was getting pauses every 15 mins or so, dunno what fixed it but seems better now. Heaps of people on forums have the same issue and are annoyed at Apple's typically arrogant lack of response.
You could get a 30gb Zune and get a 240gb hard drive put in at rapidrepair.com - as soon as a native 240gb zune comes out, i will be changing- i am running out of space as it is. I suppose i should spend less time listening and more time making!
