Automap for APC Poll!!

I would like to customize my APC for my needs and i am very disappointed that this needs different third party applications. So, how about an Automap Control for the APC which will be integrated into Live8 with several presets functions?

The whole thing is automapped from the get-go. I don't understand what you mean. Or do you mean like automapped to VST plug-ins like Novation? Device control + Plug-in configuration does something similar.

um are you serious ...research a little about what you can do with it already......secondly with max no i dont see the point.

its set up to be integrated with live why make an irritating 2nd app running at the same time or even at all.

I just don't understand what you want to 'automap' that doesn't already do so? I can understand that people will modify it for using Drum Racks or for sequences and such, but what else do you want to automap besides what it already does?

users are already tweaking the thing and it's barely been out a month. it'll be fun to see what goes down in the next year.

the APC is a general control for Live, I can't really see it being someone's main control if they do any kind of real time parameter tweaks. I've really enjoyed learning to use it.

IMO the OP should spend more time with it, he can't have had it for that long. who knows, maybe you'd go to the guy's home, watch him for a few minutes and go "ahhh yeah, YOU do need that." or maybe you'd just smash it over his head, raid his fridge and go home.

Why is everyone so hell bent on having the APC do different stuff? I thought the cool thing was that you plug... and play.
Only thing I want is rid of the pans and have the top encoders access sends 1-4 I can live with 4 sends, 3 is a bit sparse. Mmm maybe I can live with 3 twiddlable and then more that are just set to levels...

Mine still hasn't arrived!!!!

Well as far as automapping goes, I can see someone maybe wanting a fourth send instead of pans. I could also see someone wanting device control over more than one track at a time. I think this is more of hardware design constraint though. To have control over multiple automapped devices on different tracks, it would require the hardware to have encoders for every track, like that Vestax one, as well as software customization (since it would be based no longer on the blue hand/selected track, but on the current 8 tracks in focus). That clearly is not appropriate for the APC40, unless you want one encoder for every track.

Anyways, I'm just curious what someone would change about the current setup.
