Re: Using Reason
especially when they have to export part of the song load it up in recycle(pay extra to slice? are you mad?) spend five minutes placing slices, save it, go back to reason import rex fileSuperchibisan wrote:i'll challenge you to that. lets have a contest? sit with reason for 30 minutes. i'll sit with ableton and my vsts for 30 minutes. we'll see who can come up with the best sounding and more innovative music.
meanwhile the ableton guy is recording.
Re: Using Reason
i agree to what have been said about reasons general sound quality. but i still like malstrom and thor. thor indeed has a good sound quality. nevertheless, it surely cannot beat massive, audjoo helix, zebra or anything comparable i think.
nothin notable here.
Re: Using Reason
Reason has a good sound quality to it.
The samplers sound great (although they are nowhere as functional as the NI samplers which does timestretching and what not).
With Subtractor, Malstrom, and Thor you can get most of the synth sounds you need. Thor sounds amazing, as well as Malstrom, Subtractor isn't that great sounding but Subtractor does some amazing deep bass sounds.
The good thing about the Reason synths is the ease of use. Every parameter is right in front of you and not buried in deep menus. Almost all of NI synths and samplers are amazingly complex. Pro 53 is the only exception and that is also the weakest sounding NI synth.
NI synths are also more buggier than Reason. Massive is a CPU hog. Absynth has problems with note starts sometimes. FM8 is pretty rock solid however. All of the NI synths dont respond to keyboard input when using live as well, so typing in values can be a problem.

Re: Using Reason
the keyboard problem can be fixed with an entry to the preferences.cfg file.
massive uses maximum 10% cpu on my system, when set on economical mode. (which still sounds better than reason)
ni synths have no bugs as far as i can tell.
pro53 is not weak sounding, just not made for certain sounds.

Re: Using Reason
reason's very easy to use and rewired into live becomes a very powerful tool
