Would love an APC40 with...
49 keys
Built in quality soundcard
16 pads
and all current funtions.
I would pay €600 for such a product for the space saving potential. That device and a laptop and live and its game over.

Yea good point
Re: Would love an APC40 with...
are we really gonna start this again?
how about you just buy a MPK49 to go with your APC40 and call it a day?
how would you expect them to build an APC40/MPK49 all in one, add a quality soundcard, and still sell it for 600 Euro? they would have to skimp on every component they put into it.

Re: Would love an APC40 with...
I would say.. a shaded big number 1 through 8 for the 8 channels selected within the 8x5 box for easy reading. And by the way.. what are the send b and c used for? can I assigned someting on those?
Re: Would love an APC40 with...
Alas, the MPK49 has only 12 pads, not 16.McQ714 wrote: how about you just buy a MPK49 to go with your APC40 and call it a day?
Re: Would love an APC40 with...

the buzz around this box is pretty amazing but it draws lots of flies.

Re: Would love an APC40 with...
i realize that, but when have you ever seen a drumset that had more than 12 pieces of kit? the last four pads are usually used for percussion instruments not drums or cymbals, aren't they? kick, 3 toms, snare, crash, ride, closed hat, open hat... that's 9! then maybe a stick hit, some shakers and tambourine. what more do u need?ark wrote:Alas, the MPK49 has only 12 pads, not 16.McQ714 wrote: how about you just buy a MPK49 to go with your APC40 and call it a day?

I'm a big fan of single purpose devices... (sans phones)
If the audio I/O goes out, you're out of an I/O.
If the keys go out, you're out of an keyboard.
If the pads go out, you're out of pads.

quality soundcard: 500€
16 pads: 200€
all current functions: 450€
all-in-one APC: 1150€
ok... we use on chassis for all, this will make things a bit cheaper. so.. 1000€
now comes mr. DJ Whawha, he already has his quality soundcard -- will not buy
then comes mr. Noob producer, he can hardly afford a 16 pad for 200 bucks -- will not buy
then comes mr. Feinschmecker, he would prefer the pads to have more of the PK feeling, because he traditionally hates on MPC's, farther more, he finds the AD converters not too bad, but definitely needs more ins -- will not buy
got the point? the APC40 as it is now, IS an all-purpose. so much that it's already a commercial risk, to try an find a good midway for endless amounts of performing/producing styes and tastes.
not to mention the immense size such unit could have had.
modularity is the way to go. build your own set up. i was never a fan of workstations. but i know some are.
