Still haven't found that sarcasm emoticon? :)
Come on Adam, of course its not revlotionary. But give the guy a break, Whether you realise it or not he is about a billion times more successfull than you or me could ever hop eto be and best of all he is helping you and me change peoples perceptions of Dj'ing.

We need Dj's of Sashas status to spread the word.

After all Ableton were happy to plaster him all over their website.

Anyhow I never said I use hundreds of clips, or whatever, so stop the bull too. ;)
What I intended (like someone stated above) was 'I expected more than two row of clips', but hey, the point of Live (like someone else stated above, too :D) is exactly doing wtf you want with it: triggering loops over vinyl, or doing a supah dupah set with 200 clips.
Sorry for my rant, that was indeed pathetic...
Anyway, I still consider Sasha a f***ing poser. ;)
Ive never participated in Sasha threads for good reason except this one.

You obviously have no idea what Sasha is doing and you neither consider his style of music which doesnt lend itself well to 4 bar loops. Thats fien for techno, experimental, glitch or anything else similiar.

Each track that sasha plays is cut up in to 8-10 sections of varying length. In his browser he has a folder for each track. He opens say 'Underword Born Slippy folder and in there he selects the 8 clips and drags them in to the clip view (all at the same time) He then triggers clips as and when they are needed and of course he can bring in the other song from the second track at any time. When that track is playing he opens up another folder with multiple clips and replaces them over track one.

We should all bear in mind that Sasha doesnt play loop techno bleep techno glitch techno which is much easier to work with. lets face it loops techno isnt exactly difficult to mix either as there is very little to worry about regarding the key of the track and so on.

Sasha plays songs, but now he can play parts of song, edit out sections he doesnt like but through it all what he does still sounds like a song.

I see nothing wrong with what he is doing. Its basically the same as live techno loop users loading up 100 clips except Sasha likes to keep his real estate a bit cleaner.

All said and done Sasha may not be the most original user of Live but when your a Dj of that stature it makes sense to be careful. After all if youwere being paid 20k for a gig its not going to gow down well if your set is a mish mash of rubbish.

It all depends on how you measure success really.

Just because he has a publicist does not make him any more or less successful. It just makes him more annoying. Like Ashlee Simpson is annoying.

you're right, there is nothing wrong with what he's doing. it's the manufactured perception that he's out to save djing with his grounbreaking new take on performance. it's not groundbreaking and it's not new -- he just has paid mouths to make a bigger deal out of it for him. which as i've said before, for the sake of ableton, is fine.

however he still plays that same bullshit music of his, which is the real issue. that and the fact that his "success" feeds this garbage to a large audience. it's the mcdonalsization of dance music.

kinda like how ashlee simpson can't really sing: annoying.

Danny Carey:

"If you are playing music to get signed, please do me, yourself, and the whole world a favor and quit right now. The last thing this world needs is more shit to filter through when we are looking for sincerity and inspiration in art forms."

you are pathetic....while you were starting to grow pubic hair around your tiny little testicles sasha was playing to massive crowds and making classic underground dance tracks in the studio that will live in infamy.

ive seen your other posts about sasha and wanting to vomit and all. you think youre just sooo underground. i got news for you, techno boy - sasha was underground when there WASNT an underground to talk about. who did sasha have to mimic - NOBODY!!!!!

you can sit in your underwear and dream all day long about being richie hawtin but youre still just you...someone who should recognize youre never going to be revered like sasha. your impact on techno like a second rate rock act is to led zeppelin....if youre lucky.

underground is underground BECAUSE of people like sasha. you can make a positive contribution to your style of music but not under any circumstance should you be throwing stones at someone like sasha from your home in indiana.

well, i would consider you to be an expert on testicles since your tongue seems to be grafted to Sasha's.

in the immortal words of Ray Barboni, "fuck you, fuckball."

i won't defend adam; he can do that just fine by himself.

but your tone is wrong. and your conception of where this music came from, who's responsible for it, and what constitutes "underground" now or in 1987 when i got involved is laughable at best. not to mention the concept of sasha tracks living in infamy is downright fucking hilarious.

if the fact that i live in Indiana is supposed to be some sort of jab at me... well, try again. i choose to live here, family situations far from your imagination is what happily keeps me here.

thanks for clarifying Sasha's reign over the underground. Maybe Mad Mike can get ahold of the same publicist.

and thanks for the information about small testicles, you seem to be the expert.

y'know, the most disturbing thing about this is the fact that more people know who Sasha is than who Frankie Knuckles is. I don't even really like house music that much, but since i love electronic and dance music as a whole i made it a priority to learn the history. Educate yourselves, fuckers!

Stop it guys, you're killing me

In the words of Michael Jackson:
"Thats ignorant."

This is really the sort of laugh i needed after that whole operator thing.

I'll bet we'll see a spokesperson for sasha on this forum soon.
To clarify how his royal dickness made it possible for all the youngsters on this forum, to be able to go into his footsteps.

Sasha is about as revolutionary as midi. The way you are going on about it, it's like he invented the underground scene.
