I enjoyed the first one. I love Michael Bay's idea of a plot line; let's get some CGI and a hot girl, and blow some stuff up!

I'll probably go and see it this weekend as my bro is in town. I can't see heavily-pregnant Mrs Logic sitting through two and a half hours of it, though...

I really don't think it's going to be quite as bad as everyone says it is. People have FAR TOO HIGH an expectation of these kind of films. You're going to see a movie about ROBOTS beating the crap outta each other. You really aren't going to get any kind of super-deep, Tarrantino-esque dialogue or ultra-refined Austin-bound love triangles. It's just a bit of fun!

SPOILER ALERT
I liked the sound design- really high level the trailer will give you a feel for it. Personally I went to see the giant robot on two wheels from the trailer who ended up being killed off pretty quick. Also Devastator who wasn't used as well as he might of been.
Bay has a real horn for the American military, thats for sure. Blink and you'll miss a dozen planes taking off and somebody intoning "Bring the rain!"
I felt it was a well crafted movie for the senses that was a little too long.

Whether you love or hate the films, I can highly recommend listening to Steve Jablonskies scores for both films. Amazign piece of music..

Transformers 2 was utter trash! it was the dullest thing i have ever scene in my life, the fire exit sign has never seemed so interesting. And all those thinking "well hey i liked the first one" you are going to be disappointed and you will be sitting for 2 and a half hours poking your anus's out in despair.

This is in the top 3 worst films of all time, and yes i include Ninja Terminator, Boggy Creek 2, Troll 2 and all the other uber shit films out there. At least they were funny in their shitness.

I believe transformers has always been intertwined with the us airforce, not a m. Bay invention. I may be wrong but I use to have f16 and carrier transformers.

3 of the original transformers were F-16s and one was an army Jeep. Tanks and more jet fighters came in a little later.

I wasn't even able to absorb all the action shots from the first movie in 1 or 2 sittings. I think I've seen it 3 or 4 times and only the last few have I even been able to keep up. Same for Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and many other far out adventure type action movies. I don't think it all soaks in until later.

The first one had terrible acting, a terrible script, terrible directing and an overload of cheesiness.

And I loved every minute of it. Why? Because there were fucking transformers transforming and fighting.

I expect no more and no less from the second.

I have to agree with the reviewers on this one.

My mate dragged me along to see it last week and it was poor. Really poor. Shame as there has been a few good films out recently. I really enjoyed Star Trek and I liked the new Terminator as well.

One thing I will say is I really enjoyed the sound design on Transformers. Great to hear lots of strange noises buzzing around your head on the cinema surround system!
