Interface

Post by Dash » Thu Jun 25, 2009 2:40 am

I am using a Macbook Pro 17" 2.5 ghz laptop and I am looking to purchase some sort of sound interface (hopefully between 300-400$) that is known to work great with ableton live. I may be getting a mixer for my preamps so those may not be necessary.

I will have a basic setup, Novation Keyboard, Studio Monitors, Mixer, and obviously mics.

Any suggestions?

MOTU Ultralite seems to be the common favourite.

I'm running a PreSonus Firebox and I love it. I don't use too many ins/outs as my setup is completely software driven so it works well. Good price too.

+1 to Firebox, used to have one but I upgraded to get more inputs.

Any thoughts on the Echo Audiofire 4 or the Echo indigo IOx express card?

I have a TC Electronic konnekt 24D which I really like, it has compression & reverb built in which can also be used as plugins. Excellent sound quality & low latency on an iMac.

Does anyone use a Mac with an echo audiofire? I am curious as to the compatibility / how well it works with ableton.
