CPU 40% to 340% - newbie

Post by gazman » Wed Jan 26, 2005 10:17 pm

I'm using halion VSTi / Reactor VSTi mainly and after around 1/2 hour of use, CPU rides up as title suggests. any comments / links / opinions appreciated.

NB turning off VSTi gets things back to normal and everything is alright for a while (1/2 hour).
would like to be able to work for longer!!

cheers

Yup, something is going wrong there alright. Have you contacted Ableton Tech Support? - they are very helpful

same thing happens with me, i find its down to the amount of ram live is using in the undo file, because its endless it keeps storing into memory and the only way to free it up is to close live then restart, i usually reboot the whole system as to clear the complete ram files.

check your memory usage while your work and you will notice how lives goes up and up until vsts become very sluggish..

maybe Ableton should do something about this
