Are people still getting pops an clicks??
Are people still getting pops an clicks??
Hey guys, I am still having problems with popping and clicking (mostly when dropping plugins onto channels), this happens with the native stuff as well as vsts.
My CPU is never taxed over 35% but i will get an occasional click that sounds more like an actual pop than a dropout. I ran DPC latency checker for 3 hours and stayed well into the green the entire time, even as the pops were happening in ableton
I am running XP sp3 on a Quad Core, 4gram (3.25 in reality because of x86)
I have an RME Fireface400 w/ a dedicated SIIG firewire PCI-E card
please tell me i am not alone!??!?
BTW, I still get random crashes with certain vsts. but sometimes the sames ones will work and other times live crashes without notice

Re: Are people still getting pops an clicks??
Yeah. I am. Didn't in previous version... though it could be related to my lappy some how? Right now I'm running vista 64 on a Sony Vaio w/ Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 @ 2.26GHz; 4GB RAM and a M-Audio FT pro through some krk 8s.
Re: Are people still getting pops an clicks??
I experience both issues with my Macbook Pro/OS X 10.5.7/Saffire LE FW.diskowipe wrote:Hey guys, I am still having problems with popping and clicking (mostly when dropping plugins onto channels), this happens with the native stuff as well as vsts.

L8.1.4 Suite, MBP Unibody 2.4 GHZ 4GB OS X 10.6.4, Apogee One, Akai LPK25, Novation Nocturn, Korg Legacy w/MS20i controller, ComboSister, Moog Modular V, Oddity, Amplitube, T-Racks, CSR, Roland TD-12, guitars and basses and whatever...
Re: Are people still getting pops an clicks??
so i figured out that a few of my usb midi controllers were the issue. i disabled them and the clicks are gone but this issue was not present in 7

Re: Are people still getting pops an clicks??
i use an hp pavillion Dv6000..
a presonus Firebox..
the input for 2 of my USB ports, my firewire port, and a 5-in-1 card reader (along with other stupid stuff) AND my internet card are all along the same sideof the computer sharing the same chipset.
I have a 8gb SD card in the 5-in-1 reader that i store stuff on.. i pretty much keep it plugged in all the time..
when im in Ableton i noticed that when that card is in their, i do OCCAISIONALLYY get some minor pops.. to solve the problem i pull the card out and turn off/dont use anything within the same chipset. howvere when i use th eusb ports i dont get this..
if your using things that are on the samechipset try NOT using as much as you can on that chipset soo that it can focus all of its power to your audio interface and ableton..
just a suggestion that worked for me

are you using Complex pro? it is still not perfect and I always notice pops when using it
Re: Are people still getting pops an clicks??
use the fade button in clip view.
my ableton live 8 is also clicking, not because i have a hardware/software culprit, lives pdc obviously is the culprit.

Nope. And this issue is with VST instruments as well. No warping involved there.alex.the.forge wrote:are you using Complex pro? it is still not perfect and I always notice pops when using it
