I need a sample of...

Post by abort » Tue Jun 30, 2009 3:09 am

I'm needing a sound bite of a screaming crowed!?! (don't know why I put that their E into crowd, oh well.)

I have searched online only to find nothing but spam and shitty audio bites.
anyway thought maybe someone here would be DJing or sample savvy enough to share.

I'll have to check back tomorrow ..Sleepy sleepy Yawn yawn.

Well that was easy enough. I've had an account with freesound.org for two years but I forgot.

So you used up your first post to answer me ha...god what a waist.

I was originally going to correct your spelling of 'crowd' in the spirit of pure pedantry, but at the eleventh hour I thought I'd be helpful instead. :D

Are you writing a 90's techno track or have you concluded (like many of us) that you're never going to hear your tracks in a loud amped up crowd and said fuck it and decided to emulate it yourself?

On a related note, I thought it would be fun to get a bunch of canned laughter, cheering, booing, and applauding and dub it into movies and TV shows where it's completely inappropriate.

I suppose I would be writing 90's tech, correct in assuming its dated material. Interesting to hear your subjected to non-existent pressure to become an elitist pig., I'm not a dreamer.

yes yes on related notes my spelling sucks.

..but I was hoping that not only people would swarm to my attention and just give me prized and carefully groomed audio clips, but also to correct my spelling as well. :D

Most will realize what I'm trying to say, but also will understand that my music sucks, I'm permanently half baked, and dated.

I think this sums it up nicely!!! :D

Have you thought about just making it yourself? Record 30 or so tracks of you clapping and wooting it up like a frat boy and maybe play with the pitch shift on some tracks? Could be interesting.

I've also thought it would be fun to take a field recorder into a crowded restaurant or bar that isn't playing music and just record the background conversations for about 10 minutes and slap that in the background of the song but I nixed that idea when I realized I don't write party songs from the 70's.

Those are extremely good idea's ..would have to flatten each track though for I am presently working on inferior equipment (I'm moving). Yeah field recorder would be easier, and totally doable.

although I found something pretty tasty from Iran's presidential election gone wrong. 6 second clip can turn into 30 extremely easy.
