When you say that Samplers lfo squeaks does it happen mostly when it's going really fast and does it sound kind of like a bit crusher?

yup that's the one.
here's the demo project i sent to support last week. they confirmed there was a problem.

the lfo speeds up to a certain point and in comes the high pitched squeaky bit crushed noise.

the clicking is the pitch shift algorithm...

the squeaking is up in the high end... it's the frequency that stays the same even when the notes shift down.

ableton tech support was able to hear it... maybe listen again?

if you're not getting the squeaking at all, i need to know EVERYTHING about your setup lol

maybe another sample perhaps? the sample you have now is to much high end content thats making it squeak.

also: is there a way to make the lfo sound less 'square'. i was having that problem in ableton with the sine lfos as well... it sounds like 'chak chak chak' as opposed to 'wap wap wap'.

I found sampler to be fine, no, great for making a dubstep bass. Just feed it a NICE distorted bass wave and automate the lfo to filter speed as you would expect. Not much else to say.

U-He's Zebra includes Zebrify in the latest beta, soon to be a finished product as part of Zebra 2.5 (free upgrade for Zebra users as always).

Zebrify is an effects unit that mirrors the structure of Zebra. It offers pretty reasonable CPU usage, and a somewhat modular and very powerful system of doing modulations; not only can you wobble, but the tools to create wobbles with interesting structure (MSEGs working like LFOs, LFOs working like MSEGs, envelope tracking, a lot more), with a single or multiple parallel filters etc. - there are plenty of filter modes and they can be tweaked easily and deeply.

some general pointers for decent wobbawobs in Sampler (L7):

- only use the morphable M12 or M24 filter models. they don't squeak.
- don't use LFO1's 'filter' amount, as it doesn't sweep enough. assign LFO 2 or 3 to filter freq at 100% instead.
- set the actual filter's freq to around 700hz for a full-on sweep.

also for more LFOs, definitely give the pizMIDI vst plugs a whirl.

Just now finally read that original squeaky sampler filter thread and I forgot to ask you on this thread if you're using Live 7 or 8?
I am using Live 8 and if it happens to be fixed then maybe thats why I couldnt really hear the sqeaking in that Liveset u sent me.
Also as somebody else mentioned, the sharp saw wave sample contained in that set makes it hard to decifer weather I am hearing actual sqeaking or just the general ringing of the high frequency content contained in the sample.

After reading the thread I decided to set about doing my own patch. I didn't really have a decent sample to use so I used operator instead. I'm having a problem though, I seem to have a different sound when I automate the LFO sync rate to what I should hear. When I move the lfo sync rate from 1/8 to 1/16 manually I get an increased cycle rate but when I adjust in automation envelopes I get the total opposite as you will be able to hear in my patch.

Does anybody have the answer to this? I'm sure this has happened on other parameters before and I have just ignored it but now I'm really understanding operator abit more I want to know this.

ohhh man PSP nitro is one of the best filter effects i have used... it's usually a 150 dollar plugin, but audiomidi has got it for 10 bucks... if you end up using this route you should def hook me up with some racks
