Hamony, melody and counterpoint. Alchoholism, sexual adiction, and being addicted to being an asshole.

beatsme- i checked out your myspace over a year ago and i like your music.I think you sucking is all in your head. I dont know whats its called darkwave or what ever but it has its hot spots. come to tampa and check out the club called the castle.

chidj- I remember your posts after your divorce, she sounds like a cunt. I would fuck her but not when I feel lonely.I wouldnt want to get caught up in that mess again. Id fuck the girl anally from adult friend finder and then head over to the ex for some head. Then Id steal my fucking stereo system back.

beats me wrote:What's the point/plan? + There's 10,000 (and growing) producers that are better than me + I never get that [insert hot NOW sound] sound + little patience for the fine details of production = Hey, what's on TV right now?

I used to get a sense of accomplishment when finishing a track. Now I get a sense of relief....like a work deadline has been met. I've never really had a master plan for my music but now the "I just do it for myself" isn't cutting it or motivating me.
Mate, i definitely know what you mean about 'what's the point/plan' aspect. I go through that from time to time myself - it can sometimes be hard to remember that the reason i make music is because i find it satisfying and it fulfils a creative drive that i've always had.
I don't think there's any point chasing that hot 'now' sound. Plough your own furrow, so to speak, and others can't be better than you but only different to you  (did that make sense?)

+1,2,3,4 crank the fader.

This is one of the wisest things anyone has said that i can recall during my time on this forum. As musicians (at any level) WE all need to remember this - it can be applied to much of life as as well.

and being addicted to being an asshole.

You really are quite good at it ThrowAway. Hey, at least your good at something.

ChiDJ, go find yourself a new woman! The old one is broken. Move forward!

I struggle to go to work in a fairly lame job everyday. Things could be worse though.

Everyone would have a shitload of unfinished songs. They are not all worth finishing.

do I think with my little head and get some?...(cause I'm Kinda lonely right now)...or do I tell her to STFU!!??

I think this qualifies as a legitimate struggle..

Tod
I'd say, in this case, use both heads. Use the top one to tell the ex to fuck off. Use the bottom one to find an acceptable replacement to get your demons out for a night.

I don't think this one has been mentioned.

My BIGGEST BIGGEST stumbling block is this:

'Why didn't I think of that?'

I hear a technique, read about a way of usuing Guitar Rig, read about a new tip in Live, see a video about how to do somethign with such and such a synth, read about doing somethign funky with reverb, or reversing a sample and then doing this or that with it. etc.etc

And EVERY TIME I think...

'Why didn't I think of that?'

:x :x :x

So ya, my biggest problem:

I can't think outside the box.

I struggle with the fact that I wasted my high school years playing sports, going to boring parties and mastering Roller Coaster Tycoon when I could have been practicing an instrument/learning Max/MSP.

I always feel uncomfortable with remembering numbers like that of my cell phone, car, bike, bank account etc, though I am good at mathematics.

Getting away from the bleedin interwebz.. And actually DOING something!! Grr.. So easily distracted!

Finishing my studio.. (where there will be NO net connection :D ) .. Always seems to be something else to do..

Juggling everything else that's going on in my life is quite a struggle! ie.. kids, farm, work, animals, relationships, building the house etc..

Also I struggle with not getting into the 'I WANT IT' gear lust thing... and that's a real tough one!

Oh well back to the Juggling!

Peace

Thanks for the tips! Those are definitely some methods I have not thought of or tried.
