justice,danger , ..how to make their crazy cuts and breaks ?

i would like to know how to make cuts ,breaks ,like sebastian ,justice or danger...

do they use muting/unmuting ,precise audio programming ,crossfading ..?

you can put no release in your synths, or just record midi as audio and then cut it manually or through automation (off device).

I love danger and he uses fast release and copy notes or audio cuts into breaks.

but easiest way would probably using nondestructive editing.

tweak, chop, modify clips in the arrangement while recording it in the session.

go back and get the bits that worked.

is it some loops + one shots fx ,all , in a sampler like kontakt ,that he trigger from cubase ableton or logic ? and after he can play also with groove quantization..

Think of it as if your making a musical collage. Get a bunch of samples or parts you know sit together well and mess with their timing, sometimes ill set up a Drum rack separate with all the parts of the song in it a few different times, sampled at different points, ill use a drum pad controller and just mess with the slices. Ill have the click on and the other parts of the song playing and just cut them up in a sort of jam style. Ill only record what im doing though and take the best bits to fit in to the track at a later point.

- just loading parts of my song in drum rack or sampler like kontakt ..

- to have several copies of the parts with different start points

- play and jam with by exple drum and bass parts record them in midi

- and after that play and record another parts on them ..like fx ..


right ? or..

please if you have infos and tip and tricks about this kind of style of music tell me /us ..it will be nice !

plus im searching how danger and this guy,bestrack ,do to make their songs sounds like an old 80's tracks..maybe with bit reducer or things like that ? very 80's grain ..

yeah thats pretty much it, there are a few ways to do it, if you want a more randomized cut, you can copy and paste the parts on to one track (midi or audio depending on what they are) and set different start points for the clips, if you then select all the clips and go to the launch menu, set the bar timer really low like 0 0 1 and put the legato button on and select the follow action as "any". This will basically choose small parts of the clips and jump to another clip and play a small part of that and so on. you can get some nice results if you mess around with this idea.
