Hi!

Live is definitely really easy to use. There are shortcomings that the other sequencers have, but what makes Live a good choice is that

a) it's really intuitive and easy to use
b) Session view (check out the demos) makes it really easy and fun to sketch your songs before producing them properly
c) this company really listens to its users
d) Live becomes more after every version and they fix stuff almost weekly

Download the 2-week demo and try it out. Start with the Lessons that come with it to get the most of it, since there is so much that is new and different when compared to some other sequencers. This way you'll see yourself what's unique in Live and if it suits your needs.

I didn't quite get what you're referring with "the duet" in you topic? Both using Live and in Studio? Or the sound card Duet?

hi,

i use duet with Ableton live.you can use your Mac's "aggregate device" function(applications:utilities)to merge Duet's output with the built-in output.
i set it up so the builtin output is used for cue,Duet's main out as.....well,main out

cheers!

unless you want to be able to decode mp3's flac's aac's etc etc... then you'll just crash and burn. I have a duet, and i love it, but it's a little rough for dj'ing, you have to make sure that everything you're going to play is already decoded or you wont be able to run it as an agg device.

but if you're not using auido formats other than wav / aif you are fine.
