just been thinking about this too - being able to tweak your top row of 'sample edit' knobs on a per drum hit level aswell as a global sample level would be fantastic... glitch madness! maybe holding down the desired drum hit/step button (the 1-16 sequence buttons i mean) as a sort of shift modifier for that particular drum hit, then you could tweak the desired parameters of the sample edit section for that particular hit... im wetting up right now thinking about this!!!
maybe im missing something here Sarrova-Q, but what did you intend the 'U1' to 'U8' buttons to do? also would the green/orange/red options for apc-style buttons have any use in the 'drumrack/clip' section? atm im guessing its purely a 1 use button to select each drum sample?
i agree though send this to akai!

The U buttons are supposed to be 'user-buttons', just 8 buttons to program whatever you want (I would use them to trigger devices on and off, or for momentary sends). The colors of the drumrack/clip section are used to show which samples are playing (green, they light up when the sample is being played) and which one is selected for edit (orange).
When you switch to clip mode with shift (the shift button stays on, and the led next to it goes on untill you press it again), the buttons work exactly like the APC-40.
Thx for the responses
