Universal online directory of warping files for DJs
Maybe this has already been discussed, but I produce and DJ with Live, just like many others do, and part of the pain of DJing with Live is getting around to warping all of your tracks (I had a gig last Friday and had only one day to get new music and warp all the tracks, 108 to be exact). Most all songs are bought online and thus have a distinct ID (i.e., file size, embedded artist info, etc. etc.) which can be utilized to have a network setup where every time you download a song into your collection, Live can search online to see if others have already warped that track. If so, then it will download the warp markers instantly. There can be a community feature where warp markers have to be "OK'd" by a set amount of users before it is considered "verified" as good warp markers. It can also be a cool way to link the results online and see what are the top tracks that DJs are playing with Live, and later on down the road could lead to direct links to where to buy the tracks (kind of like Youtube does now with videos). I think this feature would put Ableton over the top as a DJ software and would invite all those lazy DJs who stick with Serato and Traktor so they're able to see just how powerful Live is. Any thoughts or further suggestions?

Awesome idea! I hate it every once in while I just cant get a track to warp and have to walk away for a bit or try the commercial warping companies. Although I think maybe its a good thing that ableton requires some prep for dj'ing, wouldn't want to put fuel to the fire that all 'laptop dj's are lazy'. At the same time if dj's take the time to warp thier tracks and slice them up properly maybe they deserve to be playing more interesting sets.
