Frustrated waiting for APC40s in Canada...

It seems to be world wide.

Here in belgium from two stores,
one in brussels, they don't really know when_end of july or august_ but sure is they got a huge list of pre-order to fulfil.
Meaning if you order now, you will have to wait for a long long time.

And from a local music store, not too far of my home, will receive units on july [but when?], I pre-ordered by phone.
Not having to pre pay a little something, just waiting [silently].
If I don't got their phonecall at the end of the month, I cancel the order, simply.
If I receive the phonecall, I just have to move my ass to the store and will get the beast.

Wait & see, they made a lot of advertising around the controler, so the success is not astonishing_

I just wanted to share my frustration.

Paid my 50 dollar deposit to Steve's music (based out of Montreal). Waiting, waiting waiting....
And I have to sit and watch all these videos of happy people all over the world with their APCs. uugghhh...

Any other canucks getting any luck?

Music existed before the APC40. It will continue to exist if the APC40 should ever be pulled.

People jumping on the bandwagon should have expected this. First revision hardware is often also the one which has the most problems too. You're better off to wait a year for any new equipment to bed in. Nowadays firmware revisions fixes a lot, but in days of yore, stuff like the first batch of Jupiter 8's having tuning problems, which was easily rectified later, so those buying 8 months down the line got a model which worked better etc. We're already hearing stories of loud noises and whining noises and power issues on the the APC40.

I would wait a while and not be so keen to be part of the 'me too' group just for the sake of it. This all reminds me of SOuth Park with the evil Japanese 'Chin-Pokemon' episode, where everyone is brainwashed into 'gotta collect em all' and any doubters just fell for the line 'Oh Americans have such BIG penis. We Japanese have such small penis. How can we outsmart a man with such big penis ?'

Yes I agree. Waiting is always best. However, I definitely have no interest whatsoever in joining an APC40 club or own something just because everyone else does. I would happily be the only person on the planet who owns one. It just does exactly what I've been wanting for a while. While there may be a few people caught up in the hype who don't actually know why they want one, I'm quite sure it's popularity is mostly due to people feeling the same way as me. It just does exactly what they want.

I'd love to wait and get a later revision, but fuck it. I want it yesterday.

Understood. There are definitely people out there ordering it who don't have a freakin' clue about how to use it, they saw the video with the pretty flashing lights and reckoned they 'must' have it, thinking it will immediately make them an uber creative genius and who looks great in a darkened club with all the flashing lights.

Then they jam up the forums with dumb questions like 'why are there no EQ knobs' or 'why doesn't this work with Vista 64' or 'I can't get the APC40 to work with Live 6', etc, etc.

Hopefully the wait won't be much longer now, I mean I've got more chance of winning a decent prize in the Princess Margaret lottery than some of you have of getting your APC40 delivered, many of you have already paid, or at least a deposit.

Kind of interesting that I'm heading down to Atlanta tomorrow on business, and the first call I made to a music store close to the hotel, and they have APC40's in stock... wtf. I think they sent a bit too many to good'ol USA.

I'm just happy I'll be picking up up tomorrow. I feel your pain though guys, waiting sucks.

I'll be canceling as soon as I get back from my trip. They told me they wouldn't ding me anything for canceling, so you should be next in line!! I was told late July/early August as the best case scenario.

a little update on the topic:

I called Moog Audio/Montreal again today and it seems that the shipments have been delayed until August. Bad luck I guess...
I don't know though if this can be taken as a general assumption for all of Canada.

I call them today, and they said:"We have no idea when It's gonna be in our hands. be patient, man."

Another reason fir me to leave Montreal for England...
