Latency issues... again...

Hi there,

I played my liveset in front of several thousand people yesterday and as I had already experienced latency issues, I was very careful to check that everything was ok before I started playing. I turned airport off on my macbook (2.4GHz Core 2 Duo / 4 Gb ram / 7200 rpm internal drive) and unchecked all unnecessery audio and midi ports. When I started playing, everything was smooth and fine and my controlers (Korg PadKontrol and Novation Remote Zero) were reacting perfectly. (the buffers were set to 256)
Unfortunately after 15 or 20 minutes, latency issues started to appear. Turning a knob would be heard with a delay that became worse and worse.
My sound card is an Edirol FA-101 firewire, I don't think it is responsible for the latency though.
I was using Live 8.0.4, and I remember having played during two hours with the same setup a few weeks ago on live 8.0.3 without any issue so I start thinking the update might have screwed something up. Anyway this kind of problem has really been tyring me up for the last year or so and I was wondering wether Ableton was working on it and taking this seriously or not because everytime I posted on the forum I didn't see any reaction other than those from other people complaining from similar problems. And when it comes to playing live seriously (real live, not just press play and wait), and when there is money involved, this kind of issue is just not acceptable.
Can I expect some update to improve this, or some advice to reduce the risk (I checked my setup and I think everything is ok but maybe powering the controlers with a power cord instead of usb would change something, I don't know) ?
If not, well I guess the only solution will be investing in lots of hardware and use live only as a sample player but that would suck badly. I was happy to have a liveset that could fit on a plane cabin until now...
