If you're talking about the NI site - I couldn't agree more! I sent a note to the webmaster to register my disappoinment, though I doubt that person will do much to fix it though. It's a frustrating mess.
e.
Absolutely.
Their site sucks now, even with a faster connection than most (ie - work connection).
Goofy.

I was actually hyping up the Komplete deal, and showing my workmates what comes with it was just painful.
Used zzounds "simple" pages instead.

Flash.
Use only where necessary.

Damnit, you both just reminded me of 2 softsynths I bought and never use. Please nobody else chime in with their forgotten purchase.

Hehehe. Yep, that'll happen.

When I cleaned out my studio in 2007 (to get ready for my "reset" in 2008... no purchases, trim to the minimum), I pulled SO much gear that I got while either drunk, other, or suffering from gear addiction.

Beyond goofy...

Felt good getting rid of it all though.
Gave most of it to a few friends to help them get started (not with music... they were already DJs... but with production). It must have been 30GB of sample/loop libraries I never used, 2 or 3 virtual instruments, a couple of DAW licenses that I never used, audio/midi interfaces, midi controllers, a computer or two.

Took a long time to finally bite my pride and come to the realization that despite the money spent, I didn't need it and would never use it.

Purge it. Ditch it. Give it away.
Good karma too.

whaaaaat u must have slow internet... whats wrong with flash? sometimes i'll go and listen to reaktor and battery demos and get inspiration.
20Mb broadband actually, its not the speed its the airhead content and dearth of facts - try to find out more about the komplete / kore bundle and whether there is a kore only offer for example.

Massive, Guitar rig, Electric piano, acoustic piano. I have all the rest which I have bought in various ways over the uyears. so is it worth the money to get K5. It may mean that the upgrade to K6 or whatever is next will be much cheaper. Otherwise I have no upgrade path.
I also have Ableton Suite so get a lot from that . Oh what to do??
What do ya think
I think especially Guitar Rig and Elektrik piano are worth their price. I have Massive too, but haven't used it too much yet. But isn't Guitar rig alone about 350 euros?

Why does that matter? It won't vanish off your hard drive!
because it breaks when you upgrade your OS (new OS not supported).
The last Vokator version works with Leopard. The only thing it doesn't support is native x64 on both platforms.

Any idea on how to transfer serial number ownership to sell what I've already got?

Selling Battery 3, Reaktor 5 and Absynth 4 and buying Komplete 5 at this price seems like a majorly smart decision at the moment.

I'm probably going to do the same thing. I sent them an email asking about it and they sent me back a registration form that i have to fill out and fax back to them. It may be on the NI site but i couldn't find it. If the products are the download version the buyer just needs to download the demos and you give them the serial number.

Cheers man, thanks the the point in the right direction. I searched around on NI's site but couldn't locate any information (thanks no doubt to the oft-criticised site laylout they've gone with now).

See https://www.nativeinstruments.de/forum/ ... hp?t=81741 re. transfer of registration. I've currently got a support ticket with a question about this as well. Selling my copy of NI Essentials on eBay (Absynth 3, Battery 2, Kompakt, Pro-53) to make way for Komplete 5!

8) Is it worth it? depends on what you need it or use it for. I'm still on Komplete 2 and pretty happy. Paid US$ 1000 years ago and some more for the upgrades. For first timers $399 is good buy, but you probably wont use all the instruments.

A good alternative is to top up $100 and buy Omnisphere. definitely worth the money!

the only instrument I wouldn't use (much) in Komplete would be Pro 53, as I find Arturia's Prophet V more realistic (although Pro 53 is less of a CPU hit). Elektrik Piano as well given that Electric from the Live Suite is a go to instrument in my alternative rock productions.

Everything else - very useable and if you're not using it, you're narrowing youself down unnecessarily, everything else has a use. Even though I love Operator, I also love FM8.
