anyway, having bought and listened to the album quite alot, i can quite honestly say that although simple it effects me on a emotional level more than anything i have heard in a few years. I dont care to judge things technically, if songs do something to my heart then in my book they are good.
+1 ...uncomfortable emotions... but so good. some of the lyrics mess w/ my head, painful-probing-truth-mental-breakdown type shit.
that concrete-walls track, omg

This is the The Knife tune I like:

Hurry up and watch it quick. The record company is spending a lot of time prowling around You Tube shutting down the audio on this video, instead of spending time making sure fans can buy copies of the album in the US. Fucking ridiculous.

Now try this... listen to this video:

While reading along to the lyrics:

Then tell me how shitty my musical tastes are.

:) i like the original (knife) version more - though that happens to be one of their songs i like least. sorry if the comment about music recommendations sounded judgmental. i meant that flatly, only to suggest that we have different subjective tastes.

Agreed.

Just to set the record straight, I don't think Fever Ray is bad. I think it's good, and I think Karin is an exceptional artist, and selfishly I'm hoping that the beauty of her work cures me of all the ills in life.

Was at the Fever Ray concert in San Francisco earlier this week. Wonderful!

Fever Ray & The Knife have the most rewarding music & visual aesthetic I have witnessed in ages. Very fortunate to have discovered them when there was time to go to their shows.

Karin's brother Olaf Driejer (the other half of The Knife), is working on an opera! I am really looking forward to this.

OK, ok, already...I'm going to give the album a go. I must be missing something.

I think it's great - although my only criticism is there is not much variety on the album - all much the same vibe and tempo, but it's still great.
