Why is it Ableton?

ABLE TO N?

NOT ABLE (anagram)?

BLEAT ON (anagram)?

NO TABLE (anagram)?

ETC..........

My drumming teacher is German and he told me it was named like this - ABLE (As in the ability) TON (The german word for tone) = The ability to make tone.
