really? didn't know that. So I am lucky with my ADA8000 :)

I would have thought, that you could route incoming adat signals to the analog outs of any interface, like the rme multiface.
Hmmm. Well, the idea is to have more outputs from the DAW, not to route signals coming from an ADAT input device to analog outputs on an interface. The role of the additional ADAT hardware here is to give you more analog outputs, not to occupy the ones you already have.

P.S. McQ made a great suggestion with the Aphex 141. I wasn't aware of that one.
my thinking was flawed. you can't route the adat signal of one interface to a second audio interface with adat, because the latter would have to work in some kind of stand-alone mode, which it doesn't....

routing  ....can get really confusing sometimes

some interfaces do work in a stand-alone or disconnect mode, but not many and if they don't have mixer controls on the interface itself, you would have to setup everything in the software while it's still connected. interfaces just weren't made for that kind of thing i guess, but they make it an option anyway.

so there aren't really so many options, if I would like to use the adat out of an audio interface (Konnekt24D in my case) to send out 8 channels and convert those to analogue signals for e.g. mixing out of the box on an analogue mixer

EXACTLY
After all...my question was not that silly.
It seems strange...that the main gear making companies don't have products to cover this need.

Lets call it "The adat in-TO-analog out machine"....that is not supposed to be an interface.
anyway...i'll keep trying

not in the low end gear market now, high-end gear is a totally different story. there are quite a few high-end converters starting at about $1800 going up to about $4000 and more.

to the OP... you might want to look into getting a new interface with more analog outs instead of spending the money on a converter. i would, in your case, go with the Motu 828 Mk3 as your main interface and daisy-chain the 8pre into that. that would give you a good setup with plenty of options.

Great man...
I actually also have an ultralite that i haven't sold yet....so i guess that i will daisy chain that...with my pre 8.....
so i use the outputs of the ultralite....and eventually when i sold my ultrlite...buy the mk3.

thanks
