recording in mono

Post by Jusep » Wed Jul 08, 2009 2:11 pm

I suppose there is no true mono in ableton, but maybe there's a way to do what I'm attempting.

Can I put a oompressor on an audio track (with audio from input 1 for ex)and record the track with the compression on the same track? I know I could route it to a different track but then it would make it a stereo file.

I use Ableton for sound design, foley, recording, production, etc and my only issue is when I want to prevent clipping (and use a limiter or compressor), but want to keep the file mono.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Joel

Use the "Utility" Audio Effect that comes with Live.
Drop it like it's lukewarm.
