one more question

Post by korbbit » Sat Jul 11, 2009 6:08 am

in dance songs and such, there is often a decreasing or increasing effect that is repeated constantly after every beat. how would we do that? i mean without dragging the particular knob up and down throughought the song and hoping to get the timing right. sorry im very new, and theres sum things that i just cant find in tutorials.
remember i dont want to just apply the effect to every beat, but imagine the knob sliding up and down after each beat, thats what i want to acheive

Look up "automation" in the fantastic Live manual - it'll do what you want

Are you referring to side-chain compression?

Here's a couple tutorials explaining that:

Drop it like it's lukewarm.
